Job summary

Synthomer plc is building a new Digital Centre of Excellence to power analytics, AI, and data-driven decision making across the organization. We are seeking a Data Engineer who designs scalable data pipelines, creates trusted datasets, and collaborates with Data Scientists and stakeholders globally.

You will work on cloud-based data products using Databricks and Spark, ensuring data quality, governance, and security while contributing to the growth of the Digital CoE.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data pipelines.
• Experience building ELT pipelines in cloud environments.
• Strong data modelling, architecture and governance knowledge.
• Experience with modern data platforms and scalable data solutions.
• Collaborative mindset and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines and integrations across multiple enterprise systems and external data sources.
• Build and maintain cloud-based data products using Databricks, Delta Lake, and Apache Spark.
• Create trusted datasets that support analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives.
• Implement data quality, governance, security, and monitoring frameworks.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to enable advanced analytics and machine learning use cases.
• Drive continuous improvement of our global data ecosystem and engineering standards.
• Contribute to the growth and maturity of our newly established Digital CoE.
