Job summary

Jobgether in a fully remote product development team is seeking a mid-level backend engineer. You will build reliable backend systems, REST APIs, and PostgreSQL persistence using Java and Spring Boot, taking ownership from implementation through testing and release.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong practical knowledge of modern Java development; Java 21 preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Hibernate/JPA.
• Good PostgreSQL knowledge, data modelling, and performance tuning.
• Experience designing, testing, and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with automated backend testing and CI workflows.
• Familiarity with Git, PRs, and collaborative workflows.
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of AWS (ECS/Fargate) is advantageous.
• Fluent professional English; Spanish skills are a plus.
• Ability to translate business requirements into reliable backend solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop clean, maintainable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design and maintain secure REST APIs and backend services.
• Develop PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and persistence layers with Hibernate/JPA.
• Translate requirements into robust backend functionality and business logic.
• Develop and maintain microservices within distributed architectures.
• Implement third‑party integrations and internal services as needed.
• Ensure data accuracy, validation, and edge-case handling.
• Write automated tests and collaborate with QA for coverage.
• Take ownership of backend features from implementation to release.
• Collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, product, design, and clients.
• Identify unclear requirements, risks, dependencies, and blockers early.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborative development workflows.
• Contribute to engineering practices, code quality, and team processes.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools where appropriate with sound engineering judgment.
