Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Back End Developer to design, build, and optimize the server-side systems and APIs powering AI products. This is a fully remote, hourly contract role based in Rotterdam region or open worldwide.

You'll work with Python/Go/Java/Node.js, RESTful APIs, microservices, cloud platforms, and containers, collaborating with researchers and engineers across time zones to deliver scalable, reliable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Proficient in one or more back end languages and frameworks.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Comfortable with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Familiar with Git, CI/CD, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust back end services and data pipelines.
• Develop scalable server-side architectures to support AI training and inference.
• Write clean, testable code following engineering best practices.
• Integrate with databases, queues, cloud services, and third-party APIs.
• Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability as usage grows.
• Collaborate asynchronously with distributed teams across time zones.
• Troubleshoot production issues and participate in code reviews.
• Work on task-based and project-based assignments independently.
