Job summary

Vitestro in Utrecht is seeking an Embedded Engineer to join the hardware-software crossroads of our Aletta Autonomous Robotic Phlebotomy Device. You will work deep in the real-time embedded Linux platform, optimizing C/C++ applications, OS behavior, networking and hardware interactions to achieve microsecond timing fidelity.

You’ll build and maintain the embedded software stack, implement automated performance testing, and help diagnose complex issues both in development and in the field.

Qualifications

• Strong background in real-time embedded Linux and networked subsystems.
• Proficiency in embedded software development using C/C++.
• Hands-on experience with profiling and debugging on Linux.
• Solid understanding of automated performance testing and regression detection.
• Familiarity with software update and patching mechanisms for large software artifacts.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level issues.
• Comfortable working across the boundaries of application software, operating systems, and hardware.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain real-time embedded Linux platform for the device.
• Improve OS and networked subsystems; address performance issues.
• Build automated testing and CI nightly pipelines to catch regressions.
• Diagnose complex system-level issues and support field deployments.
