Vitestro is seeking an Integration Engineer to realize, maintain, and grow interfaces between hospital LIS, Vitestro devices, and online services. You will transform LIS data, test with hospital IT, and live-deploy configurations while evolving the gateway and device IoT provisioning.
You will join the Platform & Connectivity team, working with cloud, backend, device software engineers, cybersecurity, and QA/RA to turn diverse LIS variations into configurable solutions and ensure reliable

Founded in 2017 in Utrecht, Vitestro is pioneering the future of blood collection with the Aletta® Autonomous Robotic Phlebotomy Device™ (ARPD™). This groundbreaking medical device combines advanced multi-modal imaging (near-infrared, ultrasound, and Doppler ultrasound) with robotics and AI to perform the entire diagnostic blood draw procedure autonomously.
By addressing critical healthcare staffing shortages and improving patient experience, Vitestro is transforming one of the most common and essential medical procedures. With more than 90 team members and growing rapidly, we are scaling our impact. As we placed our first devices with customers, we are now expanding our team to ensure successful implementation and long-term reliability.

We are looking for an Integration Engineer to realize, maintain, and grow the interfaces between hospital laboratory information systems (LIS), Vitestro's venipuncture device, and the online services we use to deploy and manage our installed base. This is the connection that turns a laboratory order into a blood draw and returns a verified collection record, without it, the device cannot do its job.
Your job is realizing each new hospital connection, writing the transformations and mappings for their specific LIS, testing and going live with their IT and lab staff, and maintaining and incrementally extending our Apache Camel gateway as new requirements come in. Over time you also grow into ownership of the device IoT side of the platform: provisioning, configuration, certificate lifecycle, update distribution, and fleet health monitoring. As the platform matures, this role may also extend into adjacent connectivity initiatives — such as remote access/support tooling for hospital deployments, or setting up and maintaining internal IT integrations in n8n — though hospital LIS integration remains the core and largest part of the job.
You will join the Platform & Connectivity team and work daily with cloud engineers, backend engineers, device software engineers, the cybersecurity team, and QA/RA. Every hospital brings a different LIS, a different API, and a different network reality, so a large part of the engineering is turning that variety into something configurable rather than rebuilt for each site.
You will also be on the hospital side of the table. Realizing an interface means integration testing with hospital IT and laboratory staff, and being the person who stays calm and clear on the day of go-live.
If you enjoy hands-on integration engineering, solving challenging technical problems, and building high-quality, safe systems in a regulated environment, you will thrive in this role.
In 12 months, multiple hospitals are live on the gateway through a configuration-driven onboarding process, with no dependency on the original build contractor. The person has taken full, independent ownership of maintaining and extending the gateway, and has grown into a meaningful role on the device IoT/fleet side of the platform — including provisioning, certificates, updates, and monitoring. As the platform matures, the role has room to expand into adjacent connectivity work, such as remote support tooling or building and maintaining internal IT integrations in n8n.
At Vitestro, ownership is not a slogan - it is an expectation. We trust people to take responsibility, make decisions, and drive work forward.
We believe breakthroughs happen when talented people combine dedication, accountability, and teamwork. That means:
We take initiative rather than wait for direction.
We focus on execution and delivering results.
We proactively remove blockers and help each other succeed.
We challenge ideas, not people.
We continuously learn, improve, and raise the bar.
We celebrate team success over individual heroics.
We move fast, but we do so thoughtfully. We care deeply about quality because the technology we build ultimately impacts patients and healthcare professionals.
If you are looking for an environment where you can make a significant contribution, take ownership of meaningful work, and be surrounded by highly motivated colleagues, we'd love to meet you.
We’re big fans of working from the office – this is where team spirit comes alive. At the same time, we offer flexibility, allowing up to two (out of 5) days of working from home for those who prefer it.
