Job summary

Benchmark Almelo is seeking a Software Integration Engineer (C++/Linux) for a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will migrate, integrate, and verify Real-Time Spectrum Analyzer software, porting between platforms while ensuring performance and quality across an international team.

You will combine strong software fundamentals with modern practices, including AI-assisted tooling like GitHub Copilot and Cursor AI, to deliver robust solutions and validated results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong professional experience in C++ software development.
• Ability to independently execute software development work packages.
• Experience with large existing or legacy software systems.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Experience with Git version control and CMake build environments.
• Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into working software solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, or similar technologies.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and understand existing C++ software architectures and codebases.
• Execute software migration and platform porting activities on Linux-based environments.
• Implement software modifications, abstraction layers, and system integrations.
• Verify functional equivalence between existing and migrated software solutions.
• Develop, execute, and automate software validation and verification activities.
• Investigate and resolve integration, performance, and software quality issues.
• Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with firmware, software, and system engineers across multiple locations.
• Translate technical specifications into robust implementations and validated results.
• Identify technical risks and integration challenges early in the development cycle.
• Contribute to technical documentation and engineering knowledge sharing.
• Apply AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve productivity, code quality, testing, and documentation.
