Job summary

Sioux in the Netherlands is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop and test real-time software for high-tech systems in our Randstad and Delft area projects. From our office in Mijdrecht and at clients’ sites, you will work on challenging projects that take technology to the next level.

From Mijdrecht and client sites, you’ll contribute to bare-metal and embedded Linux software, apply safety standards, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer engineering, embedded systems, or similar.
• 5 years of hands-on embedded C/C++ development experience.
• Strong grasp of real-time systems and safety-critical software.
• Passion for code quality, performance, and safety.
• Knowledge of hardware and communication protocols (UART, SPI, CAN, I2C).
• Curiosity about new technologies and tools.
• Fluent in English and Dutch.

Responsibilities

• Develop bare-metal embedded software in C and C++.
• Create automated tests in Python.
• Work with real-time OS like FreeRTOS, Zephyr, Embedded Linux.
• Design and implement state machines and real-time logic.
• Integrate communication protocols such as UART, SPI, CAN, I2C.
• Apply Functional Safety standards (IEC 61508, SIL) and MISRA coding guidelines.
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams focused on knowledge sharing and technical excellence.
