Job summary

JDE Peet's in Utrecht offers a Technology Solutions Internship starting September 2026. You will conduct your own research project on new ingredients, coffee and process technologies and assist the team with tastings, pilot plant trials and data analysis.

You will work five days a week (four in-office, one remote) for approximately five months, with a monthly internship allowance of €525 and travel compensation if you lack a free public transport card.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in bachelor or master program for the internship duration.
• Preferably in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
• Strong MS Office skills and fluent English both written and spoken.
• Hands-on experience with food research activities is a plus.
• Commitment of at least 5 months; Sep 2026–Feb 2027.
• Availability: 5 days/week, 4 in-office, 1 remote.

Responsibilities

• Experimentation & Optimization: Lead and run lab or pilot plant experiments to optimize processing methods.
• Technology Implementation: Support new technologies and equipment in the pilot line.
• Data Analysis: Analyse data to identify trends and propose improvements.
• Knowledge Capture: Develop SOPs and Best Practices for process tech improvements.

Academic Program: You are enrolled in a bachelor or master's program for the entirety of the internship, preferably in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.

Skillset: You possess strong MS Office skills and fluent proficiency in speaking and written English – Having some similar hands‑on experience with food research activities is always a benefit.

Personal traits: You have a structured approach, a driven and energetic personality, excellent communication and people skills, and the ability to work both in a team and independently.

Commitment: You are ready to dedicate at least 5 months to this internship, preferably from September 2026 to February 2027

Availability: You can join the internship for 5 days per week, including four days in-office and one day remotely, ensuring an ideal balance between collaboration and independence.

You are either an EU (EEA) student residing in the Netherlands during the internship or a Non-EU (EEA) student enrolled and living in the Netherlands during the internship.
