Job summary

QuantWare in Delft is seeking a mid-level R&D Software Engineer to join the software engineering team. You will develop measurement software, collaborate with experimental physicists and RF test engineers, and turn prototypes into robust code.

The role emphasizes Python, data acquisition, hardware interaction, and modern software practices, including CI/CD, testing, and version control, in a hybrid environment with strong growth potential.

Qualifications

• MSc in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or similar with 3+ years of industry experience.
• Experience building software that interacts with hardware in manufacturing, test, or automation contexts.
• Strong Python skills and experience with data acquisition or scientific pipelines.
• Experience with databases and cloud platforms (GCP and AWS) for technical data.
• Proficiency in OO design, Git, code reviews, and testing frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Data management: Develop and maintain how R&D measurement data and metadata are stored, linking each device to its related tests, components, and setup history.
• Measurement software: Turn measurement prototypes into robust, tested, maintainable code for R&D devices and tests.
• Code architecture & quality: Review, refactor, and maintain modular Python code with automated testing, CI/CD, and docs.
