About the Company
Join a highly innovative technology company in the Veghel region that develops advanced, high-performance industrial systems. With a strong focus on engineering excellence, technological innovation, and continuous improvement, the company pushes the boundaries of what is possible in modern industrial automation.
You will work in a multidisciplinary engineering environment where electrical, mechanical, and software technologies come together to create intelligent, reliable, and future-proof solutions. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to complex technical projects and turn innovative concepts into industrial applications.
The Role
As an Electrical R&D Engineer, you will take ownership of the design, integration, and industrialization of advanced electro-mechanical systems. Acting as the link between electrical hardware, software, controls, and manufacturing, you will translate complex system requirements into reliable, cost-effective, and scalable solutions.
From initial concept development to testing, validation, and production readiness, you will play a key role in ensuring that new technologies meet the highest standards of performance, quality, safety, and reliability.
What Will You Do?
- Electrical System Design: Develop electro-mechanical modules, UL/CE-compliant electrical cabinets, field wiring solutions, 2D electrical schematics, and 3D wire harnesses.
- Control Cabinet Architecture: Design electrical enclosures for PLC-controlled systems, including power distribution, motor protection, and industrial networking infrastructure.
- System Integration: Integrate electrical hardware, software, control systems, and mechanical components into robust and efficient system architectures.
- Testing & Validation: Define and execute functional tests, reliability assessments, and acceptance testing procedures to ensure system performance and quality.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate technical issues, perform failure analyses, and implement preventive engineering improvements to enhance system reliability.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure that designs comply with applicable functional safety principles, CE and UL requirements, and relevant EN/ISO machinery safety standards.
- Supplier & Production Support: Collaborate with external suppliers on outsourced engineering developments and support the transition from design to manufacturing.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize electrical designs, improve manufacturing processes, and introduce innovative technical solutions.
- Project Support: Occasionally visit manufacturing facilities and project locations to assess processes, troubleshoot technical challenges, and implement design improvements.
What Do You Bring?
- Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: At least five years of relevant experience developing complex industrial electro-mechanical systems.
- Industrial Control Systems: Hands-on experience with industrial automation platforms such as Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider Electric, or SEW.
- Electrical Engineering Software: Experience with EPLAN, preferably including EPLAN Pro Panel (3D), and AutoCAD.
- Core Technologies: Strong knowledge of PLCs, frequency inverters, HMIs, motor control, and industrial electrical installations.
- Industrial Communication: Solid understanding of industrial communication protocols, including AS-i, Ethernet TCP/IP, PROFINET, CAN bus, and RS-485/Modbus.
- Analytical Skills: The ability to investigate complex technical problems, identify root causes, and develop effective engineering solutions.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams and external suppliers.
Who Are You?
