Job summary

Qblox seeks a Modeling Engineer to design cycle- and bit-accurate C++ reference models that serve as golden references across full-system levels. You will model data paths, protocols, and translate complex algorithms into testable models, collaborating with RTL, firmware, and verification teams.

Join a high-performance team in Delft, contributing to a robust verification stack, co-simulation, and model-vs-RTL validation while shaping modeling standards and infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
  • Strong proficiency in modern C++ (C++11/14/17) with modular, reusable model libraries.
  • Solid understanding of DSP concepts and digital communication protocols.
  • Proven experience developing behavioral, functional, or architectural hardware models.
  • Familiarity with functional verification methodologies (UVM/SystemVerilog) and integrating models in test environments.
  • Solid software engineering practices: Git, build systems, unit testing, code reviews.
  • Excellent English communication, bridging architecture, RTL, firmware and verification teams.

Responsibilities

  • Architect cycle- and bit-accurate C++ reference model stacks as golden references.
  • Model data paths (DAC/ADC signal chains, DSP pipelines) and inter-module protocols.
  • Integrate reference models into UVM/SystemVerilog or Python test benches as predictors or checkers.
  • Translate algorithms and state machines into precise, testable models.
  • Maintain bit-true fidelity between golden model and RTL/firmware.
  • Build standalone simulation infra, co-simulation harnesses, and model-vs-RTL comparisons.
  • Define modeling methodologies, coding standards, and reuse strategies.
