Job summary

Qblox Bv is seeking a Software Architect to shape the edge of physics and engineering, spanning FPGA firmware through high-level Python APIs. You will own the technical vision for scaling the control stack from hundreds to thousands of qubits, balancing hardware realities with software abstractions.

This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on coding, unblocking teams, guiding design decisions, and collaborating with product managers and customers to deliver robust, scalable quantum

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of software engineering across multiple layers of the stack.
  • Deep embedded systems experience with hardware interfaces and timing constraints.
  • Experience designing architectures spanning from hardware to high-level APIs.
  • Ability to unblock teams and drive consensus on technical direction.
  • Excellent communication with engineers, product managers, and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Define the control stack architecture for scaling the quantum control software from hundreds to thousands of qubits.
  • Bridge hardware, firmware, software, product, and application teams around a shared technical vision.
  • Unblock teams facing timing constraints, scheduling bottlenecks, and compiler-related challenges.
  • Review designs with a focus on helping engineers succeed and translate perspectives across teams.
  • Collaborate with product managers and customers to translate user needs into architectural decisions.
