Job summary

METRO/MAKRO in Delft, Netherlands, is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to join the Rotterdam Trading Office. You will handle quality claims, run trend analyses and prepare regular reports to ensure product quality, safety, and compliance across our network.

The role involves supplier audits, risk assessments, and close collaboration with internal teams to maintain high standards. A min. bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2+ years in quality control are expected.

Responsibilities

• Handle quality claims, perform trend analysis and prepare reports.
• Perform Own Brand risk assessments and support product development.
• Conduct QC inspections for stock, first deliveries and pre-shipment.
• Monitor supplier compliance, certifications, audits and lab results.
• Maintain quality docs, traceability, supplier files, and reports.
• Support supplier audits, traceability exercises and recalls.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders on quality and safety.
• Maintain records in QA systems and data platforms.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

We are currently seeking a Quality Control Specialist to join our Rotterdam Trading Office, located in Delft, the Netherlands.

Job Description

• Handling quality claims, performing trend analysis, and preparing regular quality reports
• Executing Own Brand risk assessments and supporting product development projects
• Conducting QC inspections for stock intakes, first delivery inspections, pre-shipment checks, and following up on corrective actions
• Monitoring supplier compliance, food safety certifications, audit reports, and laboratory analysis results
• Maintaining quality documentation, traceability records, supplier files, and reporting systems
• Supporting supplier audits, traceability exercises, recalls, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and customer requirements
• Organizing andmaintainingup-to-date records in QA systems, databanks, and collaboration platforms

• Knowledge of EU food safety legislation and quality standards
• Experience working with audits, supplier assessments, or GFSI standards is considered a plus
• Dedicatedproficiencyin Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• The ability to deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines

• The gross monthly start salary is €3.100 per month and can grow to €4.000 per month with tenure in the organization (gross annual salary €37.200 to €48.000, excluding holiday allowance). Final salary placement will be based on experience and role requirements.
