EUROPEAN DYNAMICS is seeking a Python & VBA Developer to join our on-site team in The Hague, Netherlands. You will work closely with a major client IT team, developing web solutions in Python and VBA, migrating Access to SQL Server, performing ETL, and delivering Power BI visualizations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in software development, strong SQL Server and Power BI expertise, and a solid background in full-stack development and secure coding practices. Excellent English required.

Qualificações

• Strong SQL Server design, T-SQL, SSIS, performance tuning.
• Proficiency in Power BI data modelling and dashboards.

Responsabilidades

• Develop web solutions with Python and write/debug VBA solutions in Access.
• Assist in migration of Access solutions to SQL Server and other tech.
• Perform ETL on complex datasets and create visualizations in Power BI.
• Collaborate with multiple technical teams and produce technical docs.

We currently have a vacancy for a Python & VBA Developer fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in The Hague, Netherlands. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.

Your Tasks

• Use Python for the development of web solutions and scripting;
• Write and debug complex VBA solutions in Microsoft Access;
• Contribute to the migration of Access based solutions to SQL Server and other technologies;
• Perform ETL (enhance, transform, load) on complex datasets;
• Use Power BI to provide visualization and insights;
• Liaise with other technical Teams in order to push new features / changes to production;
• Write and maintain technical documentation of the solution implemented;
• Account for secure coding practices, as well as logging and auditing features.

• University Degree in IT, combined with 7 years of relevant IT professional experience;
• University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field, with practical knowledge in software development, databases, and small-scale system design. A solid foundation in software and database development is required to support data pre-processing and automation of business activities;
• At least 5 years of professional experience in software development;
• At least 5 years of professional experience with Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, SSIS, schema design, stored procedures, performance tuning);
• Proficiency with Python and frameworks for web development, data manipulation and automation;
• Proficiency with VBA applications (Excel, Access) including VBA scripting for developing automation scripts, data import/export utilities, and pre-processing tools;
• Good knowledge of the design, documentation and development of full stack solutions;
• Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI (data modelling, DAX, dashboards, reporting) for providing advanced visualization and reporting capabilities to support operational analysis;
• Proficiency in ETL processes and data-preparation technologies, including tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Power Query and Neo4j data-import or ETL utilities;
• Good working knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git);
• Good working knowledge of relational database development, with a focus on Microsoft SQL Server, including data modelling, schema design, T-SQL, stored procedures, functions and query optimisation;
• Good working knowledge of application security, authentication, and authorisation concepts, including OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect;
• Good knowledge of agile software development methodologies with practical experience using Azure DevOps for backlog management, planning, source control, CI/CD pipelines and work tracking;
• Good knowledge and display of prerequisites of working in a flexible environment including participation in multi-lingual meetings, ease of communication, exposure to an international/multi-cultural environment, etc;
• Good knowledge of preparing and maintaining technical documentation for developed solutions;
• Good working knowledge of containerisation using Docker. Familiarity with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes is an advantage;
• Knowledge of Microsoft .NET (C#) and ASP.NET Core will be an asset;
• Good knowledge of using Linux shell and basic Linux concepts (e.g., users, groups, rights) will be an asset;
• Good knowledge of Elasticsearch for indexing and querying complex, large or unstructured datasets;
• Excellent command of the English language.
