Flowserve is seeking a Pump Repair Engineer in Etten‑Leur, the Netherlands, to carry out pump repairs from start to finish on centrifugal and large cooling‑water pumps and compressors. You will dismantle, inspect, repair, assemble and test pumps to meet deadlines and quality standards.
This hands-on role requires strong pump knowledge, mechanical craft, and good Dutch/English language skills, with occasional evening or weekend work.
If a culture of excellence, innovation and ownership is what you’re searching for, consider putting your experience in motion at Flowserve. As an individual contributor, or as a leader of people, your enterprise mindset will ensure Flowserve’s position as the global standard in comprehensive flow control solutions. Here, your opportunity for professional development and industry leading rewards will be supported by our foundational commitments to the values of people first, integrity and safety. Thinking beyond opportunity and reward, at Flowserve, we are inspired by working together to create extraordinary flow control solutions to make the world better for everyone!
In this all-round role, you will carry out pump repairs from start to finish. You will work on centrifugal pumps, large cooling-water pumps and compressors that are worn, damaged or require an upgrade. The variety is significant, so every job brings something interesting. Whether it is a small pump that is highly complex due to its unique application, or a pump as long as a truck, you will see it all. You will handle smaller pumps independently, while larger repairs are carried out as part of a team.
Each year, Flowserve receives between 100 and 150 pumps and other components for repair. You may already be the driving force who knows everything about pumps, or you may be at the start of your career and ready to develop step by step into an all-round repair specialist.
Your work will naturally begin with dismantling, cleaning and assessing components to determine whether they need to be repaired or replaced. Where repair is the recommended option, you will prepare a repair recommendation. Once all components are available or have been repaired, you will ensure that the pump is assembled, tested and ready for delivery—so it can be transported to the customer within the agreed deadline, budget and quality requirements.
Dismantling pumps to assess whether components can be repaired or need to be replaced.
Using various types of precision measuring equipment to determine the dimensions of parts and components.
Independently preparing inspection reports and repair recommendations for a wide range of pump types, consistently delivering high-quality work within the agreed inspection time.
Translating specific customer requirements into realistic repair proposals.
Explaining inspection reports during inspection meetings, both internally and in meetings attended by customers.
Working closely with several production departments, including Assembly, Welding & Machining, Engineering, Project Management, and Planning / Work Preparation.
You are a hands‑on professional who enjoys carrying out complete pump repairs and upgrades from start to finish. It will come as no surprise that, over time, this role requires extensive knowledge of pumps. Are you mechanically skilled and eager to become a pump expert? Then we are ready to take on that challenge together with you.
You have strong communication skills, so speaking with customers in the workshop when needed is no problem for you. Experience in preparing inspection reports would be an advantage, but it is not a strict requirement.
In addition, you have:
Basic knowledge of pumps or other rotating equipment.
Knowledge of maintenance and repair, including material types, specifications, repair methods, machining and welding methods, non‑destructive testing (NDT), wall‑thickness and hardness measurements, and penetrant testing (PT).
A good command of Dutch and English; German would be an advantage.
Willingness to help ensure that deadlines are met, which may occasionally involve evening or weekend work.
Technical knowledge is essential, but even more important to us is that you are a true craftsperson at heart.
In addition to a competitive salary, you will receive 8% holiday allowance and a 5% year‑end bonus.
You will receive 40 days of annual leave for a full‑time position (27 vacation days plus 13 ADV days).
A full‑time day‑shift position with occasional overtime, which will of course be compensated.
A choice of several insurance options with an employer contribution.
An employer that cares about both your safety and your career, including through our annual sustainable employability programme.
