Job summary

Canon Production Printing is seeking a Project Technician in Venlo, NL to build and maintain prototypes and test setups, collaborating with engineers and designers to improve product quality. The role covers NX-based mechanical parts and contributing to lifetime testing across multiple components.

You will work in a dynamic, international team with hybrid working arrangements and a strong emphasis on innovation.

Qualifications

• Secondary vocational degree in mechanical engineering or similar (MBO).
• 3–10 years of experience.
• Experience with Siemens NX or eager to learn.
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to provide constructive feedback.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to effectively work with stakeholders.
• English speaking and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Prototype creation: Build and maintain prototypes of units and modules for various stages of product development.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers & designers, providing feedback to enhance prototype quality and functionality.
• NX CAD System: Engineer mechanical parts for test setups and feed changes back into the NX CAD system.
• Test Setup Development: Support test setups to address design questions and gather information for decision-making.
• Research and Design Support: Collaborate with engineers to identify optimal approaches for test setups.
• Optional Project Focus: Work on components such as media handling systems, high-precision frames, drive systems, and other parts of our machines.

Project Technician

36 – 40 hours a week, in Venlo (NL)

What You’ll Do

As a Technician specializing in Prototypes and Test Setups, you will be a key player in shaping the future of our products. Your role will involve building and maintaining prototypes of units and modules, providing valuable feedback to engineers and designers, and actively contributing to the enhancement of our products. You’ll work on our latest innovations, where you'll be handling a mix of interesting tasks ensuring it will never get boring!

Responsibilities

• Prototype creation: Build and maintain prototypes of units and modules for various stages of the product development.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers & designers, providing valuable feedback to enhance the quality and functionality of prototypes.
• NX CAD System: Engineering mechanical parts for test setups and any changes made during the building process are fed back into the NX CAD system
• Test Setup Development: Support test setups to address design questions, gather information for decision-making, and support lifetime testing.
• Research and Design Support: Collaborate with engineers to identify optimal approaches for realizing effective test setups.
• Optional Project Focus: You can work on a variety of components such as media handling systems, high-precision frames, drive systems, print head mountings, fixation units, and other integral parts of our machines.
