Job summary

Danone is seeking a Project Lead - Engineering to drive capital investment projects at its Zoetermeer site. You will shepherd projects from concept through commissioning and ramp-up, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery within budget.

You will manage cross-functional teams and collaborate with internal experts and external suppliers to deliver technically sound solutions for Nutricia’s manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Food Technology, Food Science or a related field.
• 3-7 years of experience in Project Engineering or a related role in food/pharma sectors.
• Experience in technical project management and leading change within a manufacturing environment.

About the job

Are you passionate about leading engineering projects that make a real impact in a manufacturing environment? As Project Lead - Engineering, you will play a key role in delivering capital investment projects that support the production of Nutricia's specialised nutrition products. From concept through commissioning and ramp-up, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

As Project Lead Engineering, you will be responsible for managing Engineering CAPEX projects from concept phase through to commissioning, ramp-up and project closure. Working closely with a wide range of stakeholders across the business, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and in compliance with all quality, safety and operational requirements.

Based at Nutricia's Supply Point in Zoetermeer, you will lead cross-functional project teams and collaborate with internal experts and external suppliers to deliver technical solutions that support our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand project needs and translate them into clear user requirements.
• Scope and develop technical proposals together with cross-functional teams to meet business and operational needs.
• Lead internal project teams consisting of representatives from Production, Quality, Safety, Industrial Automation and Maintenance.
• Partner with Procurement to prepare and review Request for Quotations (RFQs), assess supplier proposals and recommend improvements.
• Participate in the preparation and management of capital authorisation requests.
• Build project execution and ramp-up plans, ensuring smooth and safe implementation within a live manufacturing environment.
• Coordinate suppliers and internal project teams to ensure delivery against agreed timelines, budgets and user requirements.
• Drive effective risk management throughout the project lifecycle and ensure mitigation plans are in place and communicated to stakeholders.
• Monitor project costs and cash-out forecasts, providing regular updates and input to Finance.
• Ensure Nutricia and Danone engineering standards are incorporated into project design and execution.
• Take ownership of project safety and security, ensuring all activities comply with company safety policies and requirements.

About you

We are looking for a highly organised individual with a Bachelor's or Master's degree, ideally with experience in the food production industry and a minimum of 3 years of experience in Project Engineering or a related role. Your collaborative approach helps you build strong relationships and effectively manage stakeholders across your projects.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Food Technology, Food Science or a related field.
• 3-7 years of experience within the food or pharmaceutical industry as a Project Engineer or in a similar role.
• Experience in technical project management and leading change within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience developing contractual and technical documentation, including technical specifications, schedules, equipment performance requirements and commissioning protocols.
• Technical knowledge of consumer goods packaging lines, including installation and commissioning activities. Experience with aseptic fillers is a plus.
