Job summary

We ARE Renewables is seeking a Project Engineer to support subsea cable installation activities for offshore wind projects. You will base in the Netherlands, with project work unfolding both in the office and globally on offshore vessels.

The role requires a MSc or BSc in Offshore/Marine Engineering or related field, with a strong background in civil, dredging, or marine engineering. You will travel to sites and work on rotation schedules, with English fluency essential.

• Experience with subsea installation, trenching, and cable lay is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering, preparation and execution of projects.
• Develop method statements and installation methodologies for offshore works.
• Support on-site optimization and execution; communicate between vessel, site and office.
• Monitor installation progress and coordinate field activities with the Works Manager.
• Ensure planning, production reporting, budget control and cost monitoring.
• Work in office during preparation and on rotation offshore during execution.

Job description

We ARE looking for a Project Engineer to be involved in subsea cable installation activities for the offshore wind industry in an EPCI company, to be based in Netherlands.

In this role you will be working on project preparations in the office, as well as to be located all around the globe with the opportunity to visit project sites offshore. We are looking for a project engineer with a strong background in subsea cable installation.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Being responsible for the engineering, preparation and execution of our projects;
• developing method statements for our works before we go execute them offshore;
• when on-site, optimizing and implementing the method statements in practice;
• communicating between site or vessel and the office;
• keeping track of the installation process on the bridge on board one of our vessels;
• monitoring the progress of the project, participate in coordinating activities in the field, optimize and fine-tune where necessary in support of the Works Manager or Superintendent;
• taking care of ad hoc needs of the project and actively respond to questions from the project management;
• ensuring planning, production reporting, budget control and cost monitoring
• in this role you will be working office-based during the preparation phase of the project and during the project execution phase on rotations (you will have time off in between rotations).

Requirements:

• MSc or BSc Offshore Engineering, Marine Engineering or any other relevant engineering discipline;
• experience in the areas of Civil Engineering, Dredging or Marine Engineering is a plus;
• a strong background office/offshore with: cable installation, trenching, cable pull-in activities (be able to develop method statements/installation methodologies);
• willingness to work abroad on our clients vessels or projects and in the office;
• fluent in verbal and written English;

This role is only available for EU passport holders due to travel nature of the role outside HQ
