A leading engineering company in Breda seeks an Experienced Lead Engineer Subsea Cables to manage offshore cable installation projects. Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in subsea cable installation projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering, preparation, and execution of offshore projects.
• Develop method statements and review engineering work.
• Optimize and implement methods on-site.
• Review detailed engineering reports and method statements.
• Develop work-packs for the preparatory phase.
• On-site optimization and implementation of method statements; lead when needed.
• Respond to project management questions and ensure planning, reporting, budgeting and cost monitoring.

Job description

For our client DEME, we are searching for an Experienced Lead Engineer Subsea Cables.

You will play a key role in the preparation and execution of offshore projects. You will collaborate with employees of different nationalities and disciplines, and you will be located in the Breda office. We are currently looking for an experienced Lead Engineer who can manage (large) offshore cable installation projects, having both a strong engineering but also installation background. Together you will work on DEME’s vision of creating a sustainable future.

Your responsibilities

• Being responsible for the engineering, preparation and execution of the projects
• developing method statements for the works before we go execute them offshore
• reviewing and checking Orcaflex work from the engineering department
• reviewing detailed engineering reports, procedures, manuals and method statements
• developing work-packs for the preparatory phase of the project
• on site, optimizing and implementing the method statements in practice and taking the Lead when necessary
• taking care of ad hoc needs of the project and actively respond to questions from the project management
• ensuring planning, reporting, budget control and cost monitoring.

Your profile

• Must have: Bachelor / master degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Dredging or Marine Engineering
• Must have: experience of at least 5 years in subsea cable installation projects, having both a strong engineering but also installation background and know how to lead a project
• willingness to work abroad on our vessels or projects and in the office
• fluent in verbal and written English
• excellent team player and a good communicator
• Working from the office in Breda. If not living in Belgium or the Netherlands, you need to relocate.
