Project administrator (36) hours per week | The Hague
department: Finance & Control
Do you care deeply about improving the lives of children and young people? Save the Children Netherlands is looking for a Project Administrator to keep the finances of the projects running smoothly and always updated. In this position you will collaborate with passionate teams while ensuring that resources are used effectively to maximize our impact. If you are organized, proactive and always find a solution for every challenge, we’d love to hear from you.
More and more children worldwide are being oppressed by war, poverty and natural disasters. The most vulnerable among them often pay the highest price. Save the Children is committed to these children. We believe in a world where children can grow up healthily, have the opportunity to learn and play and are protected from violence and exploitation. We are where they need us. All over the world and in the most difficult circumstances. In times of crisis, we are one of the first organizations to provide life‑saving assistance to children and their families. We provide safety, a place to play, education and stand up for their rights.
The Project Administrator is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring proper coding and classification of transactions, and providing guidance to have accurate and relevant data for internal and external financial reporting processes. The PA will also support the daily monitoring of the accounting transactions of the grants and ensure that accounting practices align with grant requirements.
You are a detail oriented and resourceful professional with a passion for making a positive impact. You thrive in dynamic environments and have a keen eye for detail, ensuring projects run smoothly from start to finish. Collaboration is second nature to you—you communicate clearly, manage priorities effectively, and support teams with efficiency and empathy. You’re comfortable with administrative tasks and always ready to learn and adapt. Most importantly, you believe in the mission and values of Save the Children and are committed to contributing to meaningful change.
In the Netherlands you work together with approximately 150 colleagues, but you are also part of an international network of more than 25,000 colleagues in 110 countries. We are the world's largest children's rights organization, but that doesn't mean our organization is impersonal. We make sure that everyone's voice – just like that of the children we fight for – is heard. That every colleague can be themselves and develop further.
At Save the Children, we are proud of our diversity. That is why we invite everyone to apply for a job with us, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, religious and/or cultural background, personality and/or other visible and invisible characteristics. We celebrate our differences because they allow us to grow together.
