Job summary

SIRE LIFE SCIENCES in the Netherlands is seeking a proactive Shift Manager to lead daily production activities and a team of operators. You will be responsible for safety, quality, production performance, hygiene and continuous improvement, while coaching staff and ensuring smooth shift handovers.

The role requires HBO-level education, strong leadership, and at least 3 years of production experience with Lean, 5S, PDCA and 5xW.

Qualifications

• HBO-level education or equivalent industry thinking level.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Minimum 3 years’ production experience, preferably in a similar role.
• Experience with Lean, 5S, PDCA, and 5xW.
• Knowledge of HACCP, Food Defense, and safety.
• Food industry experience is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Good knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to work in a 3-shift pattern.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, coach, and motivate the production team.
• Take responsibility for safety, quality, quantity, hygiene, and technology.
• Ensure production planning and targets are achieved.
• Prioritise technical work and coordinate with relevant teams.
• Analyse production issues and complaints using root-cause analysis.
• Drive continuous improvement using 5S, Lean, PDCA, and 5xW.
• Ensure proper shift handovers and support work instructions.
• Apply HACCP, Food Defense, and safety procedures.
• Lead by example and work in a 3-shift pattern.
