Our European head office handles trade and commercial activities for all of Europe and is located in Rotterdam.

We are currently looking for a strategically sound and commercially driven Product Manager Surfactants.

In this role you will manage the assigned product portfolio with respect to profit‑and‑loss performance and execute the business strategy to ensure profitability and volume targets are reached. The position is based in Rotterdam, and you will be reporting to the Business Unit Head Derivatives & Surfactants.

Main responsibilities

• Execute the business plan for the assigned portfolio as agreed with the General Manager.
• Set sales price levels in agreement with management and communicate to account managers.
• Buy and sell products within the assigned product portfolio.
• Report daily positions, traded volumes, realised and unrealised financial results, update product portfolio and any market changes to management.
• Follow raw material markets, currency, and political changes.
• Develop new markets and inform management on market developments.
• Understand future market trends and inform management on potential strategy in capturing trends.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and tolling partners.
• Maintain commercial relationships with key accounts and identify potential synergy.
• Optimise product mix and profitability.
• Ensure agreed volumes and pricing of goods delivered to customers are in line with frame contracts.
• Contribute to logistics and planning for assigned product portfolio.
• Monitor call‑offs and payments.
• Participate on request in projects such as tolling, expansions, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures etc. for the assigned product portfolio.
• Ensure conformity to company policies and certification schemes in place.

Candidate qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics, Business Administration, International Business, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Science, or another related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English; other languages are highly advantageous.
• A minimum of 5 years B2B experience in surfactants product management.
• In‑depth knowledge of raw materials, commodities, and trading in line with Wilmar standards, as well as knowledge of the European and global surfactant industry.
• Knowledge of applications such as home & personal care, industrial.
• Well‑developed skills in SAP and MS Office (especially Excel), demand planning, and CRM software.
