Job summary

Shimano Europe Group in Eindhoven is seeking a Product Compliance Specialist with expertise in the chemical domain. The role focuses on translating EU regulatory requirements into scalable, repeatable processes and building a mature but evolving compliance ecosystem across REACH, CLP, RoHS, WFD, SVHC, PFAS and SCIP reporting.

You will own workflows, collaborate with Product Management, R&D, Quality, Legal and Supply Chain, and drive data discipline, templates and decision trees to ensure timely

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in product and chemical compliance.
• Knowledge of European Regulations and EU Member State regulations.
• Experience with complex product portfolios and multi-tier supply chains.
• Structured, detail-oriented with ownership mindset.
• Ability to build processes from scratch and manage stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain REACH tonnage tracking processes.
• Implement CLP workflows including SDS governance and labeling.
• Establish PFAS compliance workflows and supplier data collection.
• Monitor new product legislation and translate into impact assessments.
• Create templates, checklists, decision trees, and tracking tools.
• Coordinate across Product Management, R&D, Quality, Legal and Supply Chain.

Job description

We at Shimano are looking for the right person to grow into a Product Compliance Specialist role with the expertise in Chemical domain. This role will require you to gain experience quickly, hands on product compliance professional who can translate EU regulatory requirements into operational and scalable processes. The successful candidate will not inherit a fully mature system. They will build, structure, document, and continuously improve compliance workflows across REACH, CLP, RoHS, WFD, SVHC communication, PFAS and SCIP reporting.

The role combines regulatory expertise, data discipline, and process ownership. It is execution driven and heavy accountability.

The Challenge

• Building and maintaining REACH tonnage tracking processes
• Implementing CLP workflows, including SDS governance, labeling requirements, and packaging checks.
• Establishing PFAS compliance workflows, including supplier data collectionand regulatory readiness for future restrictions.
• Monitoring new and upcoming product legislation and translating it into impact assessments and actionable internal steps.
• Creating templates, checklists, decision trees, and tracking tools to support consistent execution.

Stakeholder and Interface Management and Ownership Capabilities

• Ability to work independently while coordinating across Product Management, R&D, Quality, Legal, and Supply Chain.
• Experience working with suppliers and internal stakeholders when data quality or timeliness is insufficient.
• Experience creating processes from scratch or significantly reworking immature ones.
• Project management skills such as defining roles and responsibilities, triggers, timelines, and ownership across multiple stakeholders.

What are we looking for?

• Knowledgeable in European Regulations and EU Member State national regulations with typically 2 years of relevant experience in product and chemical compliance.
• Previous experience in the manufacturing industry is definitely a plus.
• Experience in complex product portfolios and multitier supply chains is definitely a plus
• Highly structured and detail‑oriented, with the ability to manage multiple parallel product and regulatory tracks.
• Pragmatic mindset, focused on workable solutions rather than theoretical perfection.
• Independence with strong sense of ownership. If a process fails, this role is expected to fix it.
