Job summary

Stichting DOEN in Amsterdam seeks a Product Compliance Manager to join the Market Readiness Team within the Product Team. You will ensure hardware and software meet regulatory and sustainability requirements across target markets, translating assessments into actionable product requirements and validating interpretations with the Legal & Compliance team.

You will own the compliance framework, user documentation, and long-term regulatory roadmap to support seamless market entry and lifecycle risk

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in product compliance within the consumer electronics industry or closely related field.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Law, or a related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Translate regulatory standards into actionable product requirements and integrate them into PRDs with product managers and the certification manager.
• Monitor changes in global legislation to inform long-term technology and product roadmaps in collaboration with the Legal & Compliance team.
• Own our compliance product technical files.
• Contribute and review initial versions of user guides, Health & Safety Guides, and packaging conformity texts.
• Define the compliance and certification requirements to be included in contracts and align testing actions with the Certification Manager.
• Act as the internal point of contact for product compliance questions and manage regulatory requests with the legal team.
• Maintain product market compliance and conduct risk analyses and assessments with the Legal & Compliance team.

As our new Product Compliance Manager, you will join the Market Readiness Team within 's wider Product Team. You will play a key role in ensuring that all hardware and software solutions meet the diverse regulatory and sustainability requirements of our target markets.

In this position, you will act as the internal strategic expert who translates the regulatory assessments issued by the Legal & Compliance team into specific product requirements, working in close alignment with the Legal & Compliance team to validate regulatory interpretations and mitigate corporate risk. You will own the implementation of the product compliance framework, and compliance related user documentation, and our long-term regulatory roadmap to ensure seamless market entry, and overall product lifecycle risk management.

While you work on this, you will work hand-in-hand with our Certification Manager in the hardware engineering team, who handles the relationship with external testing labs and certification bodies. Together, you will safeguard the launch and compliance lifecycle of our modular electronics.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate regulatory standards and product label (ie.,, TCO, Blue Angel) criteria into specific actionable product requirements for all existing and future product categories, and work with Product Managers and the certification manager to include compliance into the Product Requirements Documents (PRD) from day one.
• Continuously monitor changes in high-level global legislation (e.g., the EU Battery Regulation) to inform our long-term technology and product roadmap in collaboration with our Legal & Compliance team, acting as the domain lead for turning those assessments into requirements and roadmap input.
• Own our compliance product technical files.
• Contribute and review initial versions of user guides, Health & Safety Guides (HSG), and packaging compliance texts to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, managing internal stakeholders across Brand, Product, and Marketing.
• Define the compliance and certification requirements to be included in contracts, and align specific certification actions and testing to the Certification Manager.
• Act as the internal point of contact for product compliance questions, ensuring the day-to-day operational execution and manage our general legal obligations and regulatory requests together with the legal team in alignment with our compliance framework.
• Maintaining compliance of products in the market and ensuring Legal's assessments remain applied across the portfolio, when legislation, product design, or market scope changes. Conduct risk analyses and compliance assessments in collaboration with the Legal & Compliance team.

• Ensure seamless market entry and sustained product compliance by establishing a robust regulatory and documentation framework for all devices.
• Drive early compliance risk mitigation by embedding deliverables and clear acceptance criteria into our product delivery processes.
• Guarantee full regulatory compliance and brand integrity by overseeing the complete lifecycle management of Technical Files, Declarations of Conformity, and all product-related compliance documentation.
• Advance 's leadership in sustainable electronics by actively shaping and integrating new sustainability standards and legislation into our long-term product strategy.
