Job summary

Frontseat Partners in Amsterdam is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead a small team and drive strategic procurement in a highly regulated medical device environment. This hands-on leadership role combines supplier management, contract negotiation and operational execution.

You will shape supplier relationships, implement cost savings and TCO improvements, and collaborate with Operations, Quality, R&D, Finance and Legal.

Qualifications

• Strong procurement experience within manufacturing.
• Proven experience leading and developing a small team.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Strong commercial and contractual experience.
• Strategic thinker who is hands-on.
• Independent, pragmatic and confident communicating with senior stakeholders.
• Experience in MedTech, Medical Devices, Pharma, Biotech or Life Sciences preferred.
• Other regulated or complex industries are also relevant.
• ISO 13485 / QMS knowledge is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Procurement Manager

Amsterdam | Hybrid | €80,000–€95,000

For an international organisation operating within the highly regulated Medical Device environment, we are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to lead a small Procurement team and further strengthen an established procurement function.

This is a hands‑on leadership role combining strategic procurement, supplier management, contract negotiation and operational execution. You will join a fast‑moving, entrepreneurial organisation where Procurement has genuine influence, giving you significant ownership and the opportunity to shape supplier relationships, commercial agreements and the further development of the Procurement function.

The Role

• Lead, coach and develop a team of 2 Buyers;
• Develop and execute procurement and supplier strategies;
• Manage key suppliers and source new suppliers internationally;
• Lead supplier, contract and commercial negotiations;
• Drive cost savings and Total Cost of Ownership improvements;
• Improve supplier performance, flexibility and commercial terms;
• Identify and mitigate supply and supplier risks;
• Further professionalise existing procurement processes;
• Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, R&D, Finance and Legal.

Your Profile

• Strong Procurement/Purchasing experience within manufacturing;
• Proven experience leading and developing a small team;
• Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills;
• Strong commercial and contractual experience;
• Strategic thinker who is equally comfortable being hands‑on;
• Independent, pragmatic and confident communicating with senior stakeholders;
• Experience within MedTech, Medical Devices, Pharma, Biotech or Life Sciences is preferred;
• Other regulated or complex industries such as automotive, electronics, aerospace or high‑tech manufacturing are also relevant;
• ISO 13485 / QMS knowledge is an advantage.

Location: The Randstad – 3 days per week in the office

Travel: Occasional international travel

Salary: €80,000–€95,000 base
