Job description

Job Description
Why join us:

Are you curious about how market insights, sustainability, technology, and AI can help shape smarter procurement decisions?

We are looking for an analytical and proactive Procurement / Agri-Commodity Analyst to join our Global Procurement team.

In this role, you will work with the Category Manager for vegetable ingredients, supporting sourcing decisions through market analysis, data insights, and stakeholder collaboration.

In support of Nutreco's purpose of Feeding the Future, you will contribute to building sustainable and resilient supply chains for commodities, competitive and critical raw materials. Your analyses and insights will support procurement decisions, create value for the business, and contribute to our leading market position and long-term sustainability ambitions.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, understanding market dynamics, and turning insights into action. As a key contributor to unlocking value from commodity volatility, you will provide fact-based recommendations on when and how Nutreco should secure commodity purchases, including whether to take market positions within approved policy and risk-governance frameworks. You will also strengthen supply chain resilience and help advance the use of digital tools and AI in procurement.

What you'll do:
  • Support the Category Manager for vegetable ingredients with analyses and activities related to category management, supply chain resilience, market developments, spend analysis, and sustainability objectives.
  • Prepare market reports, dashboards, KPI tracking, and analyses that support strategic sourcing and business decisions.
  • Gather, analyse, and communicate market intelligence to identify opportunities to unlock value from commodity volatility, improve purchasing decisions, and support cost and margin improvement.
  • Develop and maintain forward-looking price curves for key commodities by combining future market index development with technical analysis.
  • Conduct backward-looking analysis of market movements, purchasing decisions, forecast performance, and price-versus-index outcomes to identify root causes, capture learnings, and continuously improve forecast accuracy and process efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across Procurement, Quality, R&D, Sustainability, and other stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Engage key suppliers, traders, brokers, and market-intelligence providers to obtain additional market insights, challenge internal assumptions, and strengthen the quality of commodity forecasts and sourcing recommendations.
  • Support the onboarding and approval of new suppliers and ingredients, in partnership with the Quality team.
  • Coordinate the creation of new suppliers and raw material items together with Master Data Management (MDM) and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain and enhance AI-enabled procurement solutions, models, dashboards, and automated workflows, ensuring that data, assumptions, outputs, and user requirements remain accurate, relevant, and fit for purpose.
  • Provide clear, fact-based recommendations on whether, when, and to what extent Nutreco should take positions in commodity purchasing, including purchase timing, volumes, contract duration, based on forward curves, scenario analysis, market intelligence, and approved policy and risk-governance frameworks.
  • Participate in procurement projects related to supplier management, process improvement, and other value-adding initiatives.
  • Contribute new ideas and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen team performance and business impact.
What you'll bring

We believe you'll be successful in this role if you have:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field.
  • A genuine interest in strategic sourcing, and supply chain management.
  • In-depth knowledge about Agri-Commodities, markets, indexes, commodity interdependencies,
  • Experience with data analysis, reporting, or using data to support business decisions.
  • Proficient in digital technologies and an eagerness to explore how AI can create value and improve ways of working.
  • Advanced Excel skills, experience with Power BI or similar analytic tools and a solid analytical mind
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • A structured and proactive way of working, with the ability to take ownership and move initiatives forward.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across teams, functions, and regions.
