Job summary

Mitsui Prime ACE is seeking a Process Engineer to continually improve production processes and oversee optimization projects in a manufacturing setting. You will analyze data, resolve process issues, and ensure operators have clear instructions and knowledge to perform tasks independently.

You’ll support the production organization at an operational level and step in for the Production Manager when needed. The role involves collaboration with Production, Maintenance, Supply Chain, QESH, and R&D

Qualifications

  • Completed technical degree in a field such as Process Engineering or Chemical Engineering (MBO+/HBO).
  • Experience with process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; proactive, hands-on attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, improve, and optimize production processes and techniques.
  • Initiate and oversee improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI methods.
  • Monitor production performance and translate data into improvement proposals.
  • Develop and manage work instructions, SOPs, and process documentation.
  • Assist in resolving process disruptions and operational issues.
  • Coordinate production activities and lead meetings in absence of the Production Manager.
  • Train and guide operators on new processes and methods.
  • Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Supply Chain, QESH, and R&D to achieve goals.

As a Process Engineer, you’ll be responsible for continuously improving production processes and overseeing optimization projects. You’ll analyze data, resolve process-related issues and ensure that operators have clear work instructions and the right knowledge to perform their tasks independently. In addition, you’ll support the production organization at the operational level and take on a coordinating role in the absence of the Production Manager.

What will you be doing?

As a Process Engineer, you’ll work at the intersection of engineering, production, and continuous improvement. This position offers plenty of opportunities for entry-level candidates and recent graduates who want to develop their skills in process technology and process improvement.

You’ll analyze production processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and translate these into concrete solutions. You’ll work closely with various departments, such as Production, Maintenance, Supply Chain, QESH, and R&D, to further optimize processes.

Job requirements

Your Profile

We are looking for an enthusiastic professional who enjoys taking the initiative, implementing improvements, and getting people on board with change.

You bring the following:

  • A completed technical degree, such as in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a comparable field (MBO+ / HBO).
  • You have 0–3 years of work experience as a Process Engineer in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the plastics industry (internship experience counts).
  • Knowledge of process optimization, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical skills and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Experience with project management and working with production and process data.
  • Good communication skills and a proactive, hands‑on work ethic.
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, and environmental standards in an industrial setting.

Preferred:

  • Experience with advanced data analysis tools.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
