Job summary

Equal Experts in Amsterdam is seeking a Principal Product Manager AI to lead AI product strategy on client engagements. You'll also work hands-on as a Product Manager, setting priorities for AI-powered products and judging where AI is the right tool.

Collaborating with Engagement Managers, Delivery Leads, Data Scientists and Engineers, you’ll define the AI vision, set success metrics, manage risks such as bias and privacy, and translate technical AI concepts into business value.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the ML/AI lifecycle and how to challenge delivery teams.
• Familiar with LLMs, RAG, prompting, agents and model evaluation.
• Awareness of responsible AI, data governance and relevant regulation.
• Experience with Lean/Agile methods.
• Clear communicator who explains AI to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience coaching or mentoring others.
• Ability to balance internal practice work with client delivery.

We're looking for a Principal Product Manager AI. You'll also work hands-on as a Product Manager on client engagements, setting priorities for AI-powered products and judging where AI is — and isn't — the right tool.

You'll work with Engagement Managers, Delivery Leads, Data Scientists, ML Engineers and Engineers, plus people from the client's team, using agile practices such as CI/CD, fast experimentation and quick feedback loops.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to define the vision for AI products and decide where AI is the right tool
• Set product priorities based on cost, risk, value and user needs
• Set success metrics and quality thresholds for AI features
• Work with data scientists and ML engineers to get solutions into production safely
• Build strong relationships across the client organisation
• Manage AI risks: bias, privacy, security and regulatory compliance
• Translate between technical AI concepts and business value
• Make pragmatic calls — including saying no to ideas that aren't worth the cost or risk
