Job summary

S&T is seeking a Production Engineer – Components & Materials to manage the technical lifecycle of components and materials in a high-precision, regulated environment. You will ensure supply continuity, compliance, and product performance while partnering with Quality, Manufacturing, Product Engineering, and Procurement teams.

Join a multidisciplinary Production Engineering group and contribute to accurate specs, BOMs, and traceability within PDM/ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in mechanical engineering, industrial product design, mechatronics, or a similar field.
• At least 3 years of experience with components, supplier quality, or production engineering in a regulated sector (medical device preferred).
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes including plastics, metals, adhesives, and electronic components.
• Experience with technical drawings, GD&T, metrology, and change management processes.
• Familiarity with ISO 13485, REACH, and RoHS; biocompatibility knowledge is a plus.
• Precise, organized approach and strong supplier engagement.
• Strong written and spoken English; Dutch is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own everything related to components, materials, and suppliers from selection to final validation.
• Monitor lifecycle of critical components and secure a secondary source before parts become unavailable.
• Evaluate change notifications and supplier deviations and their impact on products and processes.
• Lead component and material changes from start to finish—from analysis to release.
• Conduct supplier audits and First Article Inspections and handle technical aspects of audits.
• Own incoming inspection instructions and measurement methods for the inspection team.
• Ensure BOMs, specifications, and traceability data in PDM and ERP are accurate and aligned.
• Keep material data up to date (REACH, RoHS, PFAS) and identify substitutes.
• Collaborate with Product Engineer, Manufacturing Engineers, QA Manager, and Procurement.
