Qualifications

• PhD in optimization, operations research, machine learning, or related field.
• Strong mathematical/algorithmic grounding.
• Interest in bridging theory with large real-world systems for sustainable transport.
• Conversational Dutch preferred due to collaboration with Dutch Railways and ProRail.

Responsibilities

• Develop trustworthy multi-model optimization pipelines across abstraction levels.
• Address timetabling for multi-operator railway and mechanism-design aspects.
• Collaborate with TU Delft Algorithmics, ProRail and NS researchers to shape research agenda.
