Job summary

GEA in Bakel, Netherlands seeks a PLC Software Engineer to design and implement software for single machines and complete production lines across lifecycle development. Work includes translating customer requirements into robust software solutions for food-processing equipment.

Responsibilities include developing software solo or in teams, implementing standard and customer-specific applications, providing remote support, training customers, and deploying solutions globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Willingness to travel globally (10–20%).
• Fluent in English, spoken and written.
• Experience in similar function preferred.
• Knowledge of IEC 61131-3 and Structured Text is preferred.
• Knowledge of Rockwell is preferred.
• Knowledge of B&R PLCs is preferred.
• Knowledge of Object‑Oriented Programming (Java) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and realization of software for single machines and complete production lines.
• Develop standard and customer-specific applications and install them globally.
• Provide remote support to colleagues worldwide.
• Train customers on machines and software applications.
• Translate customer requests into workable software solutions.
