Job summary

Planet’s Platform teams build and operate systems that enable customers to access and analyze Planet's daily and high resolution imagery, as well as derived products like Basemaps.

This position is a full-time, hybrid role to be based in Berlin, Haarlem, or Ljubljana, requiring work from the office three days per week. You will contribute across Go, Python, Java, Postgres and Kubernetes, emphasizing scalable, observable systems and AI-assisted development.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software development in production environments with Python, Java or Go.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong teamwork, written and verbal communication, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy and maintain large-scale distributed services and APIs.
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers across cross-functional teams.
• Write high-quality, observable production code and participate in code reviews.
• Operate APIs and services with Site Reliability Engineering practices and runbooks.
• Support on-call rotation and incident response; leverage AI tooling where applicable.
