Job summary

Adyen in Amsterdam is seeking a Platform Engineer for our NoSQL team to develop, optimize, and scale distributed data systems powering core services. You will work at the intersection of software engineering, database administration, and infrastructure operations, collaborating with engineers across teams to manage Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Redis, and explore Clickhouse.

You will design partitioning strategies, improve performance, and ensure high availability for globally distributed services

Qualifications

Experience with distributed data stores like Cassandra, Redis, Elasticsearch.
Proficient in Python or Go with a track record of building infrastructure tooling.
Understanding of partitioning, replication, consistency models, and CAP theorem.
Ability to troubleshoot in large-scale, production environments with distributed systems.
Proactive problem solver, willing to take ownership and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

Develop tooling and automation to manage, scale, and monitor distributed data stores.
Design, build, and optimize distributed data stores for scalability, fault tolerance, and high availability.
Develop and implement data partitioning, clustering, and sharding strategies for large-scale global systems.
Collaborate with platform and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of distributed systems.
Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and support 24/7 on-call rotation.
