Job summary

Adyen is seeking an experienced Data Platform Engineer to join our team in Amsterdam. You will help build and operate scalable, real-time and batch data platforms used by dozens of products and hundreds of developers.

You will collaborate with data engineers, ML scientists, and DataOps to deliver robust data tooling and pipelines. You will drive architectural decisions for distributed compute/data systems (Spark, Trino, Druid, ClickHouse) and pipelines (Kafka, Spark Streaming), focusing on

Qualifications

• 8+ years of object-oriented programming experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to bridge between analysts, data scientists and infrastructure teams.
• Proven experience building and maintaining distributed compute/data systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate high-performance, distributed big data platforms.
• Collaborate with data engineers, ML scientists, and DataOps engineers to roll out tooling.
• Design and implement data contracts, validation frameworks, and robust ingestion pipelines.
• Build and optimize streaming and batch data processing for time-to-insight.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, and metadata discoverability across platforms.
