Doghouse Recruitment is seeking the first dedicated platform engineer to own and scale the infrastructure underpinning a leading Dutch property management platform. You’ll focus on Azure and Kubernetes, ensure secure access with Entra ID, and streamline CI/CD by moving pipelines from GitHub to Azure.
You’ll also migrate the Java stack from acquisitions onto Azure. You will join a growing team of developers in the Netherlands, with hybrid work from Utrecht and internal IT duties as needed,
Around 400 clients on one platform and fifteen developers building it. Now my client is hiring their first engineer to own the infrastructure underneath.
My client builds the leading property management platform in the Netherlands. Around 400 clients run on it every day, from housing corporations and municipalities to estate agents and private owners, for contracts, owners’ association admin and technical maintenance. The company has around 55 people and is backed by an investor that grows through acquisitions. The latest one brought in a Java platform that now has to be integrated with the core .NET and Angular platform. Engineering is 15 developers, growing to 18, and is being split into smaller teams with product and testers.
You become the first dedicated platform engineer and take over the infrastructure from the full stack engineer who looks after it today. Most of your time goes to Azure and Kubernetes. You sort out security and access, build observability and cost insight, and build a backup and recovery setup that scales. You move the CI/CD pipelines from GitHub into Azure, bring in Terraform or Bicep where it makes sense, and take over the work an external party does today so that contract can end. You also bring the Java stack from the acquisition onto the Azure platform. A smaller part of the role is internal IT: Mac and Windows laptops through Intune, access through Entra ID, and tools like Miro. Support is during office hours, no on call. You report to the Head of Development.
Up to €85K gross per year, including holiday pay. Two flexible days a week at the office in Utrecht, you pick which, with flexible hours and public transport reimbursed. A learning budget of 5 percent of your annual salary. On top of that a bonus of up to €4K a year based on team goals, plus 25 vacation days and a pension scheme.
