Job summary

Phenospex is seeking a curious Plant Science Specialist – Sales to bridge complex plant science challenges with our digital phenotyping technologies. You will engage scientists worldwide, translating research needs into actionable demonstrations and solutions.

The role combines science with high-tech sales, offering growth toward broader sales responsibilities within 1–2 years. Expect patient, value-driven conversations and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Plant Science, Biology, Agronomy, Agricultural Biotechnology or related life sciences discipline.
• Solid knowledge of plant physiology, research methodologies and plant applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Proactive, growth-oriented mindset with drive to build a science-technology sales career.
• Motivation to learn commercial skills in a B2B ag-tech environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage researchers and scientists worldwide in science-first discussions to showcase digital phenotyping.

Job description

Your mission

We’re looking for a curious, communicative and proactive Plant Science Specialist – Sales, who will bridge the gap between complex plant science challenges and our cutting-edge phenotyping technologies. In this role you’ll use your application knowledge to engage in peer-to-peer, value-driven conversations with scientists, principal investigators and agricultural leaders worldwide, helping them discover how digital phenotyping can accelerate their work. You’re keen to grow in this area and potentially take over a broader sales role after one to two years,

Here are the main areas you'll be working on:

• Scientific Outreach & Discovery: Initiate meaningful, science-first conversations via phone and digital channels with researchers, lab managers and commercial plant scientists across academic and ag-tech sectors around the world.

• Application Alignment:Leverage your plant science background to understand customer experiment setups, evaluate project requirements and understand complex research challenges for solving with Phenospex technology solutions.

• Account & Stakeholder Navigation:Map out research institutions, universities and commercial enterprises to identify key decision-makers and build clear, long-term relationship networks.

• Pipeline Development:Conduct technical discovery discussions to evaluate requirement fit, scheduling qualified meetings and live product demonstrations alongside our senior commercial team.

• Collaborative Growth:Work closely with sales, application and marketing colleagues to optimise target lists and refine messaging, while receiving structured development opportunities to continuously build up your communication and commercial skills.

Your profile

As an "application-minded" communicator, you combine a good foundation in plant science with a genuine curiosity for technology and problem-solving. You enjoy reaching out to people, asking thoughtful questions and explaining how high-tech tools can solve real-world biological questions. You believe every customer touchpoint should be scientifically credible, consultative and value-adding.

You also bring:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Plant Science, Biology, Agronomy, Agricultural Biotechnology or a closely related life sciences discipline.
• Solid knowledge of plant physiology, research methodologies and plant applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the confidence to conduct proactive telephone discussions and translate scientific concepts simply.
• A proactive, growth-oriented mindset with the drive to build a unique career path that combines science with high-tech sales.
• Motivation to learn commercial skills in a B2B ag-tech environment. Prior customer-facing or outreach experience is a plus, but passion for plant science and technology is key.
