Job summary

Medtronic in Heerlen, Netherlands, is seeking a Maintenance & Facility Technician to join our EOC Campus on site. You will lead end-to-end maintenance work management, from requirements through planning, vendor coordination, ordering, scheduling and execution, partnering with Operations, EHS and service providers.

The role demands hands-on mechanical and electrical know-how, strong planning, and the ability to read drawings, use CMMS/ERP systems, and communicate clearly in English and Dutch.

Qualifications

  • Experience in maintenance within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, and work preparation.
  • Strong understanding of equipment maintenance, calibration, and facility systems.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP, CMMS, and digital documentation systems.
  • Structured, result-oriented and proactive, with the ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and influence stakeholders.
  • Affinity with automation, digitization, and IT systems, using data to improve operational performance.
  • Dynamic communicator, comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization, from shopfloor operators to senior leadership.
  • Good command of the English and Dutch language, both spoken and written, German language is a strong advantage.
  • Good digital skills are required

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs and servicing of plant facilities, machinery and equipment.
  • Conduct routine, periodic and ad-hoc inspections to identify maintenance needs and prevent equipment breakdowns.
  • Troubleshoot, test, inspect and repair mechanical and electrical equipment and systems.
  • Use hand and power tools, as well as relevant maintenance and diagnostic equipment, to complete repair and maintenance activities.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and equipment specifications to support maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
  • Provide technical support to production and operations, resolving equipment issues and supporting safe and efficient plant operations.
  • Collect, maintain and analyse technical and maintenance data, performing calculations and preparing reports in line with established procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes and equipment performance, support minor improvement projects, and provide guidance, coaching and training to less experienced employees.

On our EOC Campus located at the Trilandis Business Park at Earl Bakkenstaat 10 in Heerlen we have an open position within our facility team.


We are looking for a Maintenance & Facility Technician who will combine technical expertise with strong planning, coordination and administrative ownership. This role focuses on end-to-end maintenance work management. From getting the requirements clear, vendor management, ordering process, planning, scheduling to execution and completion of work.


The role actively coordinates with Stakeholders, Operations, EHS, and external service providers, providing structure, foresight, and practical execution to maintenance operations.


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

Required Knowledge and Experience:


  • Experience in maintenance within a regulated manufacturing environment (medical devices, pharma, food, or high-tech)

  • Proven experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, and work preparation, not just hands-on execution

  • Strong understanding of equipment maintenance, calibration, and facility systems

  • Hands-on experience with ERP, CMMS, and digital documentation systems

  • Structured, result-oriented, and proactive, with the ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and influence stakeholders

  • Affinity with automation, digitization, and IT systems, using data to improve operational performance
