Job summary

TU Delft invites applications for a highly motivated Ph.D. student to join a cross-disciplinary project between the Complex Fluid Processing group and the Precision Therapeutics group.

The goal is to model lipid-based drug delivery nanoparticles and their purification using coarse-grained MD simulations. As part of SPARC, you will collaborate with industry partners, spend time at partner facilities, and contribute to cancer therapeutics research.

Qualifications

  • MSc or equivalent in a relevant field, e.g. Chemical/Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or Nanotechnology.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to work across computational and experimental domains.
  • Excellent English communication and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience with molecular dynamics simulations and transport phenomena.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical downstream processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct molecular modelling and MD simulations to study lipid-based nanoparticles.
  • Investigate formation and purification mechanisms in water–ethanol systems under various flows.
  • Collaborate with groups across TU Delft and industry partners to translate findings.
