Job summary

Maastricht University is offering a PhD position in Explainable AI and Foundation Models for CT Imaging. You will conduct research on explainable AI and diffusion-model-based approaches, developing methods with rigorous validation and clinical relevance.

You will join the Department of Precision Medicine within GROW and collaborate across AI, imaging, and clinical translation to deliver a four-year doctoral project and a PhD thesis.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Strong ML/DL background with experience in ML experiments.
• Experience with Python for machine-learning experiments.
• Interest in AI for medical imaging and CT.
• Strong English communication (CEFR C1).

Responsibilities

• Undertake a four-year doctoral research project leading to a PhD.
• Develop and evaluate new explainable AI methods for medical imaging.
• Contribute to training, adaptation and external validation of foundation models for CT.
• Collaborate in an interdisciplinary, international environment.
