Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam invites applications for a fully funded 4-year PhD position in Brillouin microscopy. The project explores Brillouin scattering and photon–phonon interactions, developing new experimental approaches for life sciences and spectroscopy.

Qualifications

  • MSc degree in physics or related field.
  • Background in experimental/theoretical physics preferred.
  • Experience with programming is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Brillouin microscopy experiments and related photonics research.
  • Develop and test experimental setups for life sciences applications.
  • Disseminate results through publications and presentations in international venues.
