Job summary

AMOLF invites applications for a four-year PhD position in the Resonant Nanophotonics group. The project focuses on reconstructing nanophotonic scattering geometries from their radiation patterns using physics-based, diffusion-driven methods.

You will work with a Fourier microscope and collaborate with external partners to exploit eigenmode structures for geometry-difference reconstruction relative to a nominal design.

Qualifications

  • MSc in physics/optics/photonics/nanoscience or related field.
  • Interest in nanoscale photonics and scattering phenomena.
  • Experience with experimental or computational imaging is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform measurements and computational reconstruction hand in hand.
  • Use a Fourier microscope to measure radiation patterns across diverse illumination wavefronts.
  • Develop physics-informed algorithms utilizing the eigenmode structure of the scattering system, in collaboration with JCMwave (Berlin).

Education

MSc degree in physics, optics, photonics, nanoscience, or a related field
