Job summary

Amsterdam UMC Research BV in Amsterdam invites applications for a PhD candidate position within BIO COMPaSS in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. You will work on characterizing biological-age phenotypes using diverse biomarkers and large datasets, with a clear aim to translate findings into personalized lifestyle interventions.

The role is data‑driven, collaborative, and oriented toward applicability in rehabilitation practice, with supervision from clinical and methodological experts

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Human Movement Sciences, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics).
• Strong interest in ageing and biomarker research.
• Experience with large datasets and programming in R or Python is preferred.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Dutch is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design systematic reviews of biomarkers of biological age and assess clinimetric properties.
• Link and harmonize existing datasets with collaborators.
• Apply clustering, latent class analyses, and predictive modeling to identify phenotypes.
• Publish results in international peer‑reviewed journals and present at conferences.
