Job summary

Amsterdam UMC Research BV is seeking a PhD candidate to lead data-driven research within WP3, collaborating with clinicians and data scientists. You will design systematic reviews, harmonize datasets, and apply advanced statistics to identify biological-age phenotypes.

From year 4, tasks transition to a colleague as you complete your PhD thesis. Strong English and Dutch language skills are preferred, with a proactive, multidisciplinary approach.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences or Epidemiology.
• Affinity with ageing and biomarker research and data analysis.
• Good programming skills in statistical software (R, Python) or motivation to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and conduct research within WP3, collaborating with clinicians and researchers.
• Design and conduct systematic reviews of biomarkers of biological age.
• Link, clean and harmonize datasets from population studies and clinical databases.
• Apply advanced statistical methods (clustering, latent class analyses, dimension reduction, multimodal integration).
• Characterize phenotypes in relation to health and functioning and translate into practical biomarker sets.
• Publish results in international journals and present at conferences.
