Job summary

Johnson & Johnson in Leiden seeks a Material Planner to coordinate planning and procurement of raw materials and components, translating MPS outputs into material requirements to keep production on track.

You will publish MRPs, manage inventory, communicate with suppliers, and partner with Global Procurement to improve supplier on-time delivery while supporting continuous improvement in planning processes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in supply chain management or related field.
• Up to 2 years’ experience in planning, purchasing, logistics or manufacturing in a multinational environment; pharma experience preferred.
• Practical experience with SAP or similar planning/inventory systems.
• Familiarity with Lean or continuous-improvement approaches and efficient processes.
• Clear communicator across functions and customer requirements.
• Results oriented, organized and eager to grow into future leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain and publish Materials Requirement Plans (MRP) to ensure production and customer needs are met on time.
• Manage inventory to minimize excess, obsolete and expired items while meeting service goals.
• Communicate material delivery schedules to suppliers promptly to support production plans.
• Partner with Global Procurement to improve supplier quality and on-time delivery.
• Track and report supplier service performance and coordinate returns or disposals of rejected materials.
• Support Phase-In and Phase-Out of materials and drive continuous improvement in planning processes and practices.
