Job description

For our client we are looking for an experienced Payroll Accountant to join our Finance team in Hoofddorp, near Amsterdam. In this role, you will be the go-to expert for payroll operations for our Finnish entity, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a seamless experience for employees and stakeholders.

What you’ll do

• Oversee the preparation, validation, and transmission of payroll data to our external service provider
• Act as the main contact for employees, authorities, and HR on payroll-related topics
• Manage time tracking and absence data in Workday, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Ensure compliance with Finnish payroll tax and social security regulations
• Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts in SAP
• Support audits, reporting, and payroll-related projects in an international environment

What we’re looking for

• Completed Finance/Accounting degree (Bachelor or equivalent) or payroll accountant apprenticeship
• Strong knowledge of Finnish payroll tax and social security law
• 5+ years’ experience in payroll/accounting roles
• Fluent Finnish speaker with strong business English skills
• Proficient in SAP, MS Excel, and comfortable working cross-functionally
• A self-starter with strong ownership, problem-solving skills, and a team-oriented mindset
• Travel: up to 10%
