Vopak seeks a Global OT Solution Director to steer the worldwide Operational Technology landscape, defining a future-proof vision for safe, compliant, and efficient terminal operations. You will report to SVP Digital Solutions and set global standards for OT architecture and security.

You will bridge global strategy with local execution, owning the Vopak Edge Platform and Terminal Automation roadmaps, while collaborating with asset management, SHEQ, and BU teams to maximize best-practice reuse

Qualificações

• Master's degree in a technical field, IT, Automation or equivalent.
• 5–10+ years of OT/IT experience, preferably in terminal operations or process industries.
• Proven success in leading application development, implementations and handovers to operational teams using Agile and Waterfall.
• Hands-on familiarity with DCS (Emerson/Yokogawa), MES, IIoT/sensors, batching and scheduling packages.
• Solid understanding of process safety frameworks including HAZOP, LOPA, ALARP and SIL.
• Strong knowledge of ISA-88/ISA-95 standards and information security (ISO 27001).
• Working knowledge of IT service management and governance frameworks (ITIL, ASL).
• Familiarity with continuous improvement and process optimization methodologies (Lean, BPM).

Responsabilidades

• Define and execute a global OT strategy with standard blueprints for greenfield and brownfield sites.
• Drive strategic vendor relationships and govern OT security and alarm management standards.
• Act as Product Owner for Vopak Edge Platform and Terminal Automation solutions.
• Manage end-to-end lifecycles and roadmaps, including IT/OT integrations (DCS, automated truck loading).
• Collaborate with Global Asset Management on CapEx portfolio reviews and with Global SHEQ on process safety matters.
• Advise local Business Units on complex OT challenges and foster global OT capabilities.

Your Mission

OT plays an important role in creating safe, efficient and cost effective operations by means of deploying SCADA, DCS, Truck handling and CCTV solutions. However the current OT landscape is fragmented as many local solutions are in place that need servicing, maintenance and troubleshooting. To bring OT to the next level a clear strategy is needed, next to guidance/governance and project support helping the BU's and JV's need to organize accordingly.

What will you be doing?

As the Global OT Solutions Director, you will serve as the strategic driving force behind our global Operational Technology landscape, shaping a future-proof vision that ensures safe, compliant, and highly efficient terminal operations worldwide. Reporting to the Senior Vice President Digital Solutions, you will define and execute our global OT strategy-establishing standard blueprints for greenfield and brownfield sites, driving strategic vendor relationships, and governing essential standards in OT security and alarm management.

In this high-impact, cross-functional role, you will bridge the gap between global strategy and local execution. You will act as the Product Owner for the Vopak Edge Platform and our Terminal Automation solutions, managing their end-to-end lifecycles, roadmaps, and IT/OT integrations (such as DCS and automated truck loading). Beyond technology ownership, you will serve as a key Subject Matter Expert and trusted sparring partner across the enterprise: collaborating with Global Asset Management on sustaining CapEx portfolio reviews, working with Global SHEQ on critical process safety matters (HAZOP, LOPA, SIL), and stepping in to advise local Business Units on complex OT challenges. By establishing strong global capabilities and nurturing an active OT community, you will drive technology adoption, ensure compliance, and maximize the re-use of proven best practices across all terminals.

The Global OT Solution director is also someone who could be called upon in case special OT expertise is required by the BU which is not available within the BU.

Does this sound like you?

• Education: Master's degree in a technical field, IT, Automation, or equivalent.


• Track Record: 5-10+ years of experience in OT and/or IT, with a strong preference for Operational Technology in terminal operations or process industries.


• Project Delivery: Proven success in leading application development, implementations, and handovers to operational teams using both Agile and Waterfall frameworks.


• Core OT Systems: Hands-on familiarity with Distributed Control Systems (DCS-preferably Emerson or Yokogawa), MES, IIoT/sensors, batching, and scheduling packages.


• Process Safety: Solid understanding of process safety frameworks, including HAZOP, LOPA, ALARP, and SIL.


• Industry Standards: Strong foundation in industrial automation standards (ISA-88, ISA-95) and information security (ISO 27001).


• Working knowledge of IT service management and governance frameworks (ITIL, ASL).


• Familiarity with continuous improvement and process optimization methodologies (Lean, BPM).
