Job summary

Zohorecruit in Amsterdam is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA to install, tune, and maintain production databases and lead performance optimization efforts.

You will own backup, recovery, security, and 24x7 incident support while collaborating with DevOps and development teams to enhance deployment processes. Proactive monitoring with Grafana, Kibana, and Prometheus is a key focus.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience in Oracle DB Administration or related roles.
• Hands-on Oracle DBA and PL/SQL expertise.
• Experience in performance tuning, backup, recovery, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of relational databases; Oracle preferred.
• Experience with Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus for monitoring dashboards.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, Git, Maven, and Ansible.
• Bash/Unix scripting experience.
• Understanding of CI/CD and deployment across containerized and non-containerized environments.
• Knowledge of Agile, Scrum/Kanban, Risk, and Compliance.

• Monitor database and application environments and develop preventive monitoring and alerting solutions.
• Ensure database availability, security, privacy, backup, recovery, and data integrity.
• Provide 24x7 production support, incident resolution, and standby/on-call support.
• Support automated deployment and CI/CD activities using Azure DevOps, Git, Maven, and Ansible.
• Create monitoring dashboards and solutions using Grafana, Kibana, and Prometheus.
• Work with development and operations teams to improve deployment processes and reduce delivery lead time.
• Support enterprise applications involving TIBCO BW 5.x and EMS.

What You Bring to the Table:

• 8–10 years of overall professional experience in Oracle Database Administration, database engineering, or related roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle DBA and PL/SQL.
• Experience in database performance tuning, optimization, backup, recovery, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, with Oracle experience preferred.
• Good experience with TIBCO BW 5.x and TIBCO EMS.
• Experience with Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus, and monitoring dashboard creation.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, Git, Maven, and Ansible.
• Strong scripting knowledge in Bash/Unix.
• Understanding of CI/CD and automated deployment across containerized and non-containerized environments.
• Knowledge of Agile, Scrum/Kanban, Risk, and Compliance practices.

• Diagnose complex database and application performance issues and implement effective tuning solutions.
• Develop proactive monitoring and alerting mechanisms to prevent production incidents.
• Troubleshoot Oracle database issues and maintain high availability and reliability.
• Handle 24x7 production support, incidents, and on-call responsibilities.
• Automate operational and deployment activities using scripting and DevOps tools.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and application teams to improve system performance and delivery efficiency.
• Work effectively under pressure and communicate clearly with technical and business stakeholders.
• Ensure all database and operational activities comply with security, privacy, risk, and compliance requirements.
