Job summary

GXO Logistics in Hazeldonk, Breda is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of the new site, reporting to the Site Manager. You will drive performance, customer satisfaction, team development and continuous improvement.

Lead two Warehouse Managers and ~125 indirect employees, partner on operational strategies, and plan staffing across shifts while embedding Lean practices and ensuring safety and compliance. English is essential; Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with strong analytical skills.
  • Experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse operations or similar service/production.
  • Minimum 5 years in a complex organisation with leadership and people development.
  • Experience applying Lean and driving continuous improvement.
  • English communication excellence; Dutch language skills beneficial.
  • Proactive, customer-focused and culturally aware with goal orientation.

  • Lead daily distribution and light manufacturing activities safely and efficiently.
  • Manage performance, coach and develop teams, and maintain employee relations.
  • Drive customer metrics across cost, quality and responsiveness with corrective action.
  • Implement Lean Warehousing System processes and support start-up activities.
  • Plan staffing, scheduling and workloads across all shifts and accounts.
  • Maintain safety, compliance, process documents and environmental standards.

We are recruiting for an Operations Manager to join our new site in Hazeldonk, Breda. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will oversee the day‑day operation of the site, ensuring strong performance, customer satisfaction, team development and continuous improvement.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the culture, processes and performance of a new operation while delivering excellent service for our customer.

  • Maintain safety, compliance, process documentation and environmental improvement standards across the operation.
What you'll bring to GXO
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, with strong analytical skills.
  • Experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse operations or a similar service‑based or production environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a complex organisation, with strong leadership and people‑development skills.
  • Experience applying Lean principles and driving continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of working with closed book customers would be beneficial
  • Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch language skills would be beneficial.
  • A proactive, customer‑focused and culturally aware approach, with the ability to work towards clear goals.
