AIT Worldwide Logistics is seeking an Operations Agent for Road freight in Amsterdam. You will coordinate and execute international road freight shipments end to end, ensuring quotations, scheduling, documentation, tracking and billing meet SOPs and KPIs.

The role involves active collaboration with customers, partners and internal teams, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient delivery. Fluency in English and Dutch is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in road freight forwarding or similar role.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Fluent English and Dutch (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Qualify customer shipping requirements and gather details for quotation and operation.
• Prepare profitable quotations and set shipping schedules.
• Coordinate day-to-day import/export of products and review orders/documents.
• Track shipments, communicate delays, and resolve issues with customers and partners.
• Ensure compliance with safety, security, Dangerous Goods regulations and SOPs.
• Bill shipments in line with company guidelines and timelines.

Overview

As Operations Agent Road, you will coordinate and execute international road freight shipments end to end, ensuring customer requirements are met through accurate quotations, scheduling, documentation, tracking, and billing in line with SOPs, KPIs, and regulatory requirements. You will proactively manage shipment status and exceptions, collaborate with customers, partners, and internal teams, and ensure full compliance with safety, security, and Dangerous Goods regulations while contributing to a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with customers to qualify their shipping requirements and obtain all details (regulations, certificates, documentation) necessary for shipment quotation and operating to ensure the customer’s request is satisfied
• Prepare profitable quotations accurately
• Set shipping schedules and communicate with customers, deliverers, and ports to verify loading, departures, and arrivals in a timely manner
• Coordinate the day-to-day import and/or export of products, including reviewing orders and documents
• Track and communicate all delays, damages, problems and work to resolve customer issues.
• Responsible for all aspects of air international operations such as customer service, data entry of shipments, operations and billing
• Manage all aspects of tracking shipments to ensure shipment is moving as scheduled and update system immediately upon verification. Identify and rectify if a shipment has deviated from its schedule
• Coordinate recovery/delivery schedules with various cartage agents and international partners
• Partner with local sales teams to communicate problems to customers, international partners, and other stations, as needed
• Ensure all customers’ SOP instructions are adhered to and AIT KPIs and guidelines are followed and met
• Ensure all shipments are properly billed within company guidelines and timelines
• Process and comply with all requirements listed by regulatory agencies
• Network with corresponding departments to ensure files are billed and posted prior to end of monthli>
• Execute all Dangerous Goods shipments in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations (as applicable)
• Contribute actively to a healthy and secure work environment by reporting unsafe/ unsecure/ unhealthy conditions and possible improvements

Qualifications

• min. 2 years of experience as a Road Freight Forwarder
• Utilizes established procedures but decides action within task
• Must be able to perform in a fast pace / high volume work environment
• Attention to detail
• Problem Solving
• Fluent oral and written English and Dutch is a must
• Strong PC skills (Windows, Microsoft Office applications) preferred
• Cargo Wise Software experience a plus
• ITAR, Dangerous Goods or TSA work experience / regulations
• VGB security clearance (or the ability to obtain it) is required for this position
