Job summary

1100 Springer Nature B.V. is seeking a Project Coordinator Open Access in Dordrecht, operating on a hybrid basis with a full-time commitment.

The role oversees the production process for accepted articles, ensures quality standards, and collaborates with authors, editors and offshore vendors to publish on schedule. You will contribute to publishing system improvements, standardisation, and data-driven reporting, while managing day-to-day publication activities and ensuring efficient workflows

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, HBO qualification or equivalent experience.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience working with content management systems, workflow tools or publishing platforms.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and process accuracy.
• Desirable Experience in scholarly publishing or science communication.
• Familiarity with XML, HTML or other digital publishing technologies.
• Experience contributing to process improvement or operational projects.

Responsibilities

• Managing the publication process for accepted articles from production handover through to online publication, ensuring content is delivered accurately and on schedule
• Performing production quality checks on article files, metadata and publication outputs to ensure compliance with journal requirements and publishing policies
• Working closely with offshore vendors to monitor performance, resolve issues, manage post-publication corrections and ensure articles are published on time and to the required standard
• Communicating effectively with authors, editors, vendors and internal stakeholders, delivering a Customer-Focused service and resolving publication queries
• Using knowledge of Publishing Workflows & Systems to manage article progress, troubleshoot workflow issues and support the consistent delivery of publication processes
• Contributing to Process Optimization initiatives, systems testing and workflow improvements, helping to improve efficiency and standardisation across Publishing Operations
• Applying Data analytics / Quantitative Skills to monitor workflow performance, identify trends and support reporting activities and operational decision-making
• Contributing to team and cross-departmental projects, sharing knowledge and helping to improve processes and ways of working across Publishing Operations
